Since @GiantIdiot, @5thStreet and others have been discussing pitchers in baseball this week, I was reading this man’s story.  It was intriguing.  Can you name this man?

1.  He admits he has ADD.

2.  Favorite Bible verse is John 20:29.

3.  His hand is tattooed.

4.  Some of his best friends are the guys of MercyMe.

5.  He was the last person to ever pitch in a major league stadium in 1999.

6.  He pitched for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.

7.  He has had the chance to pitch in a World Series.

8.  He has gotten his 300th career save.

9.  Demons:  Jim Thome and Albert Pujols.

Who do you think it is?

Well, many of you have read about me, seen my pictures and listened to me rant on this blog about my husband. But few of you have ever seen my husband. So tonight I am feeling many things about my husband as I sit here with my laptop and I thought a great way for many of you to meet him was here.

My husband is absloutely, positively the polar opposite of me. He is very quiet, very soft spoken, speaks very little, doesn’t get angry, and he is hands down the best match for me. We have been married 15 years. 15 years of laughter, tears, heartache, fear and joy. We have had our ups and downs but we waded through them all. We have grown together, loved together, and will grow old together.

He wears many hats, and obviously his favorite is his “Bama” dorag under his Harley helmet. He is a division chief for the government in emergency management, an umpire for college and high school baseball, he is a college instructor, he is a Mason, a Shriner, a friend, and is passionate about life. Rolling Thunder 2008

I don’t do fear.  Over the last 35 years, in the saddle, I’ve  seen my share of conflict in the world.  But every time this country has come out stronger than before, because chrome and asphalt put distance between me and whatever the world can throw at me.  Freedom and wind outlast hard times, and the rumble of my engine drowns out all the spin on the evening news.  If 35 years has proved one thing, it is that fear sucks and it doesn’t last long.  So screw it, let’s ride.

Today is the 64th anniversary of D-Day.  Tell a vet how much you appreciate them.

Wacky Wednesday Wisdom:

  • The first peanuts grown in the U.S. were in Virginia.
  • People who drink coffee are less likely to commit suicide than those who don’t.
  • A little learning is a dangerous thing, but alot of ignorance is just as bad.
  • Clint Eastwood wrote many of the theme songs of his movies.
  • Honey is used as a center for golfballs.
  • Tony Dungy, Tom Flores, and Mike Ditka have all won a Super Bowl both as a player and a coach.
  • On an average, a hundred people choke to death on ball point pens every day.
  • 70% of the poor people in the world are women.
  • Astronauts cannot burp in space.  There is no gravity to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs.
  • We will spend an average of 6 months of our lives sitting at red lights.

So, do you have a Wacky Wednesday thought?

For those of you who know me, I am a Harley girl.  Leather pants, helmet with a big orange “T” on the back, and ready to hop on whenever I get the chance.  So this weekend a group from our local HOG group hit the highways headed to Washington, D.C.

Now, for the back story.  We were headed to Rolling Thunder.  An annual event that is put on in honor and memory of the men and women that have fought for our freedom.  It is a gathering at the Pentagon of over 500,000 bikes that ride to the memorial walls in D.C. (more…)
